EXHIBITION POSTER

This exhibition poster has the font Sans Serif this would be because this exhibition must not be too formal as is looks very colourful. It also look like it is displaying the London underground map so this could mean it is an urban exhibition.
This poster stands out quite a bit more than the others but not because it's extremely colourful but because the colours go against each other. The yellow stands out a lot more because of the black fonts used on this poster. The big A in the middle of the page is serif but the other fonts are sans serif. I think this is because the A is a logo and the rest of the poster is there to catch people's eyes because the font is very bold and in capital letters.
This exhibition poster is very eye catching. The text is the part of the poster that stands out because of the size of the text, the positioning and the colous contrasting againt each other. The black background makes the white and other bright colours stand out even more.
This poster looks like its quite plain but quite retro, thats because it was made in 1988. I like this poster as it looks plain but still looks interesting.

DISPLAY

SERIF
The 2 images below display the serif writing font. You can see this because the font they both use has a small line attached to it, this is called a serif. This makes the font look more formal. The reason these two companies have used serif font is because they both want to look formal and want to be taken seriously. The Times is a formal newspaper and HSBC is a bank
so they will want people to think they are serious enough to be trusted with money.

SANS SERIF
The two images below show the font sans serif, this is because none of the fonts on these two images have the serifs coming of any of the text. These two images are not using serif, this is because they are less formal than the other 2 images. OK magazine is not as formal and quite informal on the text they use. This is because they have a varied age range and want people to see the title thats why its standing out. The other image is not using sans serif because their target audience is varied as well and the film its self isnt very formal.

SCRIPT
These two logos are a great example of the script font, this is because they both look very similar to a handwritten font. They have not been handwritten but they look like they have been handwritten. This is what the script font is and these logos display it.

DISPLAY

I think this image displays display typography. i think this because display typography is big and bright and used mostly on film posters and headlines.
